This article is about the Jell/Monol breed. For other uses of the name Clay, click HERE. A tar-like breed of Jell that had its name changed from Monster Rancher 1, but retained its same design and appearance (even in the anime series). The name Clay was actually borrowed from the Jell/Hare mix in Monster Rancher 1.
Etymology[]
Lava is molten, volcanic rock. Clay is a type of sediment, much like dirt but more malleable. This monster is not very aptly named, though. Its Japanese name is Magumagumi, or Magma Gummy.
