A jet-black model of Henger that was built as a spy machine. It is nearly silent and spends most of its time folded up into its compact form. It was probably a remake of the Black Henger, and was briefly known as HidePod. It is eventually revealed to be related to Zan, but when it appears in Monster Rancher 3 (a game that does not allow combining) monsters are classified according to where they live. Dark-Bringers live in the jungle region known as Kalaragi.
Dark-Bringers also appear as non-playable enemies in Monster Farm Online and Monster Farm Lagoon, a medium-powered one called Dark-Bringer and an extra powerful one named Cornelia. This is another game that has no specified sub-types, so its genetics remain a mystery. Its black-and-yellow design may indicate a relation to Abyss, though.
Etymology[]
So-named because it brings darkness (evil) upon its victims. Later named because it can fold itself up into a small pod to hide in the darkness.
It retains the same name in all Japanese versions of the games.
