Eve's Night is the tenth episode of Season 2 and the thirty-sixth overall episode of the Monster Rancher anime series. It aired in Japan on December 25, 1999. The episode marks Master Moo's first confrontation with the Searcher in his perfect form and the revelation of him being Holly's father to the rest of the Searchers.
Synopsis[]
Moo is finally merged with his body and immediately seeks out Genki's group. They are currently traveling over a mountain, and they come across a sleepy village. The village doesn't answer when they ask to stay in, because it is "Ogre Day" in the village, where an ogre comes and steals children. A little girl, Eve, leaves her house on during the night to seek out the mystic god who will kill the ogre, but she finds Moo, and he holds her inside an energy bubble. Moo confronts the gang, and his overwhelming offense power squashes them. But, when it looks like the end, the sun arises. Moo cannot stand the light, and flees. Eve is rescued.

Moo has merged with his body completely. A Weed brings news that the Searchers defeated Naga. Moo is infuriated, and goes to find the Searchers. They are traveling over a snowy mountain, and they come across a village. When they knock on doors for shelter, nobody answers. Inside one of the houses, a young girl named Eve wants to know why the Searchers won't be let in for the night. Her grandfather says that it is "Ogre Day," and nobody goes outside or answers the door because it may be an evil trick by the ogre to steal children and devour them. Grandfather also tells Eve that the sun god Colona will destroy the ogre.
Eve wants to meet Colona, and sneaks out to meet him when she sees a giant blue fireball in the sky. Thinking it is Colona, she follows it. The fireball is actually Moo, and he kidnaps her. Eve's parents find her missing, and get the town to search for her. Meanwhile, Moo confronts the Searchers and tells them that Eve's life hangs in the balance. Holly finally admits that Moo is her father, and the group is outraged. They are no match for Moo, who admits to not even trying. Moo only is weakened when the sun rises. He retreats, and Eve is rescued from his clutches.
