Gaboos are essentially balls of yellow clay with faces that can extend muscle-bound arms from both sides of their body. They have an exceedingly long reach and rely on physical attacks such as punching and slapping. Gaboos were first introduced in Monster Rancher 2, where they were easily obtainable at the start of the game. They made no further appearances in the franchise until Monster Rancher 4, where one appeared as a boss monster: a pirate Gaboo (called a Nendoro) named Don Mudleone.
It is also possible that the "hand" monster that appears as a level guardian in the Secai Ruins in Monster Rancher Battle Card is a Gaboo as well. A hand made of clay forms out of the floor and has an eyeball in its palm that allows it to see.
Etymology[]
Its Japanese name, Nendoro, comes either from the words nendo (粘土), meaning "clay" or nendo (粘度), meaning "viscosity."
