Hit Rate is the estimated amount of accuracy that a monster's particular technique has. The hit rate is usually estimated using a letter system:
- E - Hits almost never
- D - Hits very little
- C - Hits occasionally
- B - Hits regularly
- A - Hits usually
- S - Hits almost always
The Hit Rate of your techniques is effected by your Accuracy stat (if your monster shoots more accurately, even a C-rated attack can hit more often) and your opponent's Speed stat (if it is very fast, even an S-rated attack may miss it regularly).
Monster Rancher 3[]
In this game, the Accuracy stat is done away with, so more emphasis is placed on the individual Hit Rate of each technique. In this game, the Hit Rate is not estimated, but instead is represented by an exact number so as to give players a better idea of how the attack will function. Every time your monster wins a Festa and raises its class, the Hit Rate of some of its techniques may rise one percentile (with the exception of Raiden, Gitan and Ogyo techniques). Since there are ten classes in the game, this gives each technique a range of ten percent accuracy (although not all techniques DO have that range).
For example, Baku's "Ear Slap" has 10 levels, so it starts out with a Hit Rate of 50%, and can go all the way up to 59%. However, it's "Baku Advance" Tech only has 6 levels, and because it starts out with a Hit Rate of 35% it can go all the way up to 42%. Techniques cannot rise in both Hit Rate and Damage though (with the exception of Raiden, Gitan and Ogyo techniques).
Monster Farm & Monster Rancher DS[]
In these games, the Hit Rate is estimated on a 5-point scale, using symbols:
- No Symbol (E) - Hits almost never
- Triangle (D) - Hits very little
- Circle (C) - Hits occasionally
- Double Circles (B) - Hits regularly
- Star (A) - Hits almost always
The Hit Rate of a particular technique is listed next to each technique HERE and in your Monster Info box in your game.
