Hoppers have minor appearances in the third season of the series, showing up as background characters with no lines or as a tournament opponent with few, short lines.

Despite being lemur-like monsters in the games, their design is far more cat-like in the anime series, with much pointer ears. Also, Hoppers use their large paws and sharp claws, instead of the famous boxing and kicking moves that it has in the games. Hoppers can't communicate properly with others, they can only repeat their own name.

Season 3[]

On episode 50, two Hoppers are seen holding the prize money check for the winner of the Legend Cup tournament. Their appearance lasts for seconds only and they're not too relevant to the plot.

On episode 66, after inscribing Tiger and Mocchi in the Greatest 4 tournament taking place in Colart, The Searchers meet another trainer, Nina, whose monsters are Graywolf and Hopper. The latter has been her companion for the longest time, though it's unknown how and when they met. Nina tells the others that she found Graywolf's Mystery Disc one day when she went up a mountain to help Hopper train. One of his Lightning attacks struck the snow-covered Disc and caused a reaction in it, leading to Nina's discovery of a monster that she could release. Hopper was seen being just as excited as her to meet this Tiger and even joined her in her playful displays of affection to welcome him into the group. He later participates in the tournament as well as Graywolf and the Searchers and gets to the finals, defeating every other opponent. During his fight with Mocchi, he seems to be on the same level as him, so much so that they ended up knocking each other out simultaneously, ending their battle in a draw. After Graywolf's defeat, he, just like Nina, runs to his aid and hugs him when she does to let him know that he doesn't need to apologize for losing.

Personality-wise, Hopper seems rather carefree, energetic, friendly and playful. He knows when to get serious for battles, though, and will give his everything to win. He enjoys being carried on Nina's back when travelling together, much like a baby lemur and his mother. Hopper wasn't shown to be able to speak coherently, as all he seems to say is his own name.

Techniques[]

Nina's Hopper is able to use the moves Lightning, Flick, Jump blow (albeit a bit different from what it looks like in the games), Phantom claw and an anime-exclusive technique called Hopper roll.
