}}A strange monster species that has demonic origins. Hoths usually have long tentacle arms, several pairs of eyes, and rows of sharp teeth. Introduced in Monster Farm Online as enemy monsters, Hoth itself is a level boss. Most seem to be guardians of ancient ruins, so they don't necessarily need water like you'd expect.
Their tentacles have barbs on the end that can immobilize opponents with magic and their snake-like tongues can coat things in poison. They seem to be able to move by wriggling their slug-like bodies and pulling themselves with the tentacles.
Etymology[]
Hoth's Japanese name Hoto is actually an old-world term to describe the female genitalia, although these days, it is rarely used for that. It later became used to describe things that looked similar in shape, including a certain swamp on the Japanese archipelago. This monster probably gets its name from this swamp.
