Kawazumo is a large frog monster breed that has great precision with its movements. It uses its long tongue, stretchy arms and barrage of bombs to attack enemies at a distance, before rushing in and finishing them off with close-quarter tackles and punches. First appearing in LINE: Monster Farm, this monster already seemed to have several genetic combinations ret-conned into existence, such as Monster Rancher 2's Frog Hopper.
Sumopion is also notable as a sumo monster, although despite the return of the Arrow Head species, it was not revived for LINE: Monster Farm.
Etymology[]
Kawazumo appears to be a combination of "相撲" (sumo), as well as "蛙（かわず）" (kawazu), a somewhat uncommon word for "frog". It may originate from a pun on "蛙（カエル）" (kaeru), the more common word for "frog", sounding like "変える" (kaeru, to change), which can in some contexts be swapped with "変わる" (kawaru). "Without changing" could conceivably be rendered "変わずも" (kawazu mo).
