Power (abbreviated as POW) is a statistic that in earlier games tells you how hard your monster hits when it attacks with Power-Type Techniques. Later, this comes to encompass all attacks. The higher your monster's power, the more potent its attacks. Several factors effect power though, including whether or not your monster is sick or tired (if so it may not be up to full strength), the defensive capabilities of your opponent (if it has high defense your attack may still not do as much damage), and the attack power of the move you used (some moves are stronger than others; if you have high power and use a flimsy move, the attack may still not be very strong).
