Hate to bring this up, but in MR4 they actually don't appear to be an ape at all. They were given their own symbol even. Almost seems we need a "unique" section for creatures with no relation to others instead of throwing them into other species based on guesses. J spencer93 (talk) 06:04, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
