Undines are water elementals with very high intelligence, but very low energy, especially when separated from the water. Their water-based techniques tend to be very powerful. In recent games, homage has been paid to the Undine species by naming a sub-breed of Pixie after her, though they are two separate monsters. True Undines have a tail like a fish and their bodies consist of water, much like a Jell. The Undine (Pixie) has legs and scales like a fish.
In Monster Farm Lagoon, Undines return as companions and a very powerful boss that looks like the purple variation with bright red eyes. Its new design is much more enigmatic, giving it crab-like hands and an outer layer of fins that mimic a skirt or dress.
Etymology
Undines (also called ondines) are water Template:Ns in the Template:Ns works of Template:Ns. There are many fariy tales involving Undines, the most famous being a German novella by Template:Ns in which Undine, a water spirit, marries a knight named Huldebrand in order to gain a soul.

Obtaining
- To obtain an Undine in Monster Rancher 2, reach Rank 4 or higher and raise a Hopper to Class B. During one of the winter months (Dec.-Feb.), it will dig up a hot springs on your ranch and Colt will find the Undine Slate. Use it in combining with any two monsters to get Undine.
